The Second Chance is open. It looks cool but, Reader, Eeeevil Seeestor and I fled when it became apparent that we would be waiting a while for seats. That can only be a good sign - I'll try again later. We went and ate mexican instead and then went to Walmart. Turtleduck is lucky she missed it.
I have a cold.
This is Riley Dino's last day of swimming lessons until January. I just registered him for another session. The Columbia Association isn't going to have online registration available until Fall 2010. Because anyone whose kids deserve swimming lessons clearly has the time and opportunity to register in person ... Grr. I am building up to a feminist rant, be warned. But not today. Today I want to get back to reading "Forever Amber."
I must point out (speaking of swimming, and since I am watching kids frolic in the pool while I wait for Riley) that parenting affords few joys greater than being in the pool and squishing your wet, half-naked child.

online registration isn't all it's cracked up to be. In fairfax county's rec program, it involved waking up at 5 AM so you could attempt to access the site every 30 seconds until about 11 AM when you got a mesasge saying that the class was full. That was provided the site didn't crash first, which usually happened . . . YMMV
